The unruly mess between self and societal-identity is at the heart of my practice. In learning to referee these massive emotional compartments psychologically, image becomes parable. My story of adolescent confusion, from identity rebellion, familial chaos. Scraps from my private memories are torn from my messy childhood journals and juxtaposed with light-hearted drawings, sentimental doodles, and emotional letters to my future self. The exhausting layering of this physical process allows me to pick through the archives of my past.
